It’s that time of year again…the 3rd Annual Long Winter Studios Tommie Awards! We are celebrating awards season by handing out some sweet recognition (and prizes!) for the best videos made with our characters. We accept entries starting today until February 23, so read the rules and enter below!
HOW IT STARTED
In 2016 we saw all the awesome shorts you made with our character rigs and we wanted to brag about you a little, so we started the Long Winter Studios Tommie Awards with some fun prizes and serious street cred to winners. The submissions each year keep getting better and better and we can’t wait to see what another year of animation + new LWS characters brings! (Check out our past winners: People’s Choice 2017, Staff Picks 2017, People’s Choice 2016, and Staff Picks 2016.)
WHAT YOU WIN
It wouldn’t be award season without prizes and swag, so here’s what you’ll get if you win:
The People’s Choice winner of our video contest will take home the Grand Prize of 1 Free Year of Long Winter Membership, a $120 gift certificate that gets you our sweet service with all 40+ of our characters for a whole year! The People’s Choice winner will be chosen by popular vote, so make sure you share it with all your friends (but no funny business or ballot stuffing, please.)
Our favorite Staff Pick winners will receive 1 free month of membership, plus all winners will be featured on our Long Winter website and social media accounts (read: lots of eyes on YOUR work!) And all winners receive exclusive Tommies winner badges they can proudly display on their sites and videos.

Official LWS Tommies 2018 Contest Rules
Contest begins February 12, 2018 and ends February 23, 2018. Voting period is from February 26-March 1 and winner will be announced Friday, March 2.
- All videos must prominently feature at least (1) current Long Winter Studios character. More than one LWS character is also acceptable but won’t give you extra points. Characters from other companies in the video are acceptable but there must be at least one prominently featured LWS character.
- Any length of video is acceptable.
- Dialogue or music is encouraged but not required.
- Videos can be but do not have to be rendered out or properly lit. Just give us your best stuff!
- No inappropriate clips or nudity. Pretend your mother or little sister is watching. We reserve the right to not include your video in the contest for any reason we deem appropriate.
- In order to enter, you MUST post the video to our Facebook page (facebook.com/LongWinterStudios). Specify that this video is your entry to the Tommies. By posting to our page you agree that we can share that video and screenshots to our followers on all social media outlets and our website.
- How the winner will be chosen: We will utilize a voting system on our website blog. The video that receives the most votes will be the winner of the (1) $120 Long Winter Studios gift certificate, which is valid only for a membership on Long Winter Members’ website (no cash value) and must be redeemed by March 30, 2018. The staff pick winners (quantity to be determined) will receive (1) $10 Long Winter Members gift certificate, which is valid only for one month of membership on Long Winter Members’ website (no cash value) and must be redeemed by March 30, 2018. Winners will be featured on our website blog and/or social media outlets for an un-designated period of time.
